NFL Preseason events are over, and it is time for the main events to commence. In fact, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens played the NFL season opener. It was a sight to behold, as described on The Bill Simmons Podcast as well. That is where Bill interacted with Peter Schrager to delve deeper into the entire match, including its outcome.
It is fair to determine that the Chiefs outplayed the Ravens in the second quarter. That pressured them to reconsider and redesign the formation. Architecting a new strategy also took place. However, Kansas City dominated the third quarter with 7-0. Consequently, they were left with no choice but to retaliate in the remaining moments of the NFL game.
The Chief managed to stay afloat with 7 points since their opponents could only gain a margin of 3 points over them. Baltimore was still down 7 points. It was the defensive stretch of City that didn’t allow them to take the game forward. Some of the top NFL betting sites have started modifying their odds to favor the Chiefs. It remains to be seen whether they will maintain their momentum or offer others the opportunity to bring them down.
The first game of the season was the firm event, which took place in week one of 18. The Chiefs are now 1-0, and the Ravens are 0-1. The Ravens are next scheduled to face the Raiders, while the Chiefs will take on the Bengals in Week 2 of 18. The Eagles and the Packers have an upcoming game in the same weekly series.
This win means a lot for the Chiefs considering they lost their previous three NFL Preseason events. There is little to confirm if these losses came as a result of putting the team to some test or if players were taking a back seat after winning the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers. The ultimate event saw them secure victory by posting a score of 25-22 on the scoreboard.
The team is off to a great start and now looks to continue with it to the very end, probably for another spectacular finish.
After winning just one out of three preseason games, Baltimore was in the game. The win was against the Falcons by 13-12. That was a narrow margin, which did not help them boost a lot of confidence. The worst happened in the last preseason game when the Packers beat them 30-7. That’s a margin of 23 points, which still haunts the Ravens.
Isaiah and Xavier Worthy pushed the Chiefs to touchdowns. Derrick and Likely did the same job for the Ravens.
Upcoming matches will heat up the tournament, starting with the Eagles and the Packers. It will be followed by the Saints & the Panthers and the Giants & the Vikings.
